Innovative Solutions During the Pandemic. "Here's how gamification impacts user behavior within the realm of marketing and user experience"

Introduction


During the pandemic,




Citroën faced the challenge of reaching customers who couldn't visit dealerships. To address this, we pioneered an augmented reality (AR) solution that allowed potential buyers to explore Citroën's C3 Aircross and C5 Aircross models from the comfort of their homes using their smartphones.

Here’s how gamification impacts user behavior within the realm of graphic design:

With lockdowns and social distancing measures in place, traditional car showrooms were no longer accessible. Our goal was to create a seamless, immersive AR experience that showcased the interior and exterior of Citroën's vehicles, convincing customers to consider purchasing them despite the restrictions.

Featured in the Appstore as App of the Day – Spain

Now that we can't drive or visit a dealership to see the car we thought of buying before the coronavirus crisis began, we can satisfy our curiosity with apps like the one Citroën offers with its Virtual Experience, making car exploration possible from anywhere.

Marca magazine and motorpasion Spain praised us with a feature on their website where they talk about this innovation.

My Role

In this project, I led the UX/UI design, crafted all mobile app interfaces, developed graphic design presentations, and designed the user journey to help potential buyers explore and book appointments with sales representatives.

Main Tasks

  1. Graphic Designer: Developed design presentations (covers) and campaign designs.

  2. UX/UI Designer: Created all mobile app interfaces.

  3. User Experience Strategist: Designed the user journey to lead potential buyers to book appointments with sales representatives.

Working on the Citroën AR Experience project during the pandemic was both a challenge and a privilege. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to an initiative that helped users stay connected with innovation from the safety of their homes.

Throughout this project, I strengthened my skills in designing intuitive user interfaces for immersive technologies, balancing aesthetics with functionality, and aligning the user experience closely with brand identity. It was a valuable lesson in adaptability, collaboration, and how thoughtful design can enhance accessibility even in difficult times.
